Instructions for on-line blogging...

Welcome to all you 6th Graders! (I know you've been waiting all summer to hear that...)

This year, we will be journaling on-line using this blog site. You will be expected to give your thoughts and or responses every week - 4 times per week. Therefore, you will note that I will post the week's questions every Monday. Please respond to the 4 questions before Thursday evening, by 7pm. After that time, you will lose 2 points per day for late blogging. Each blog response is worth 5 points, making the total blog points/week a 20 point total.

Here are some general guidelines for your responses:

1) Remember that emails and blogs sent via internet are not private.

a) Visitors may view our blogs, so for your protection, please use an approved username to promote anonymity.

b) Please respond to each blog in complete, well-thought out, and logical sentences. Please remember to use correct grammar and correct spelling.

c) Thou shalt not use technical slang/abbreviations - (e.g. lol, bff, ttyl...)

2) Remember to not be demeaning or insulting in your responses toward the blog or any of it's responses. You may critique a response if it is constructive or if it will add to another person's insight. Here are the rules to make a critique:

a) You must point out at least 2 good things that the person has brought out.

b) You should continue your critique with something like, "Although ________ has brought out some good points, I would like to say that I disagree with..."

c) I repeat, NEVER put someone else's opinion down or belittle the point that they are trying to make. Those types of blog posts will not be published and you will have to redo your blog responses. In extreme cases, a parent conference may be called, if deemed necessary.

3) Other guests may view, and at times, may post responses - but this will not be the rule - it will be an exception and I will need to know and approve the people whose responses will be published. If you would like to submit a response, please send me your information at jsamaniego@txsda.org and be sure to pick out a username.

4) If you are a guest, please remember that this blog is created for the sole purpose of blogging about the material we are learning in the 6th Grade Bible curriculum book entitled Christ Our Life - God's Grace. As blogging goes, it is a forum for intellectual discussions and, particularly, for the responses of the 6th Grade students of the Keene Adventist Elementary School to the journal questions presented in their Bible book lessons. We hope you enjoy reading the students' thoughts and insights about God's Grace.
